Floor tom resonates too much. My band noticed the difference and said that my floor tom sounds much better. Put a pillow or jacket or pile of fluffy fabric or whatever under the floor tom. My floor tom now resonates more freely sounds louder and just has a better overall tone. I guess these work by decoupling the drum from the floor as much as possible.
