Floor Transition Height Difference

Floor transition height difference. I can not find an irc reference for this. The strip is supported on both sides by the lips and held in place with nails. T molding transition strips have two lips to cover the edges of both surfaces when flooring products differ no more than about 3 8 inch in height. With the carpet out there is a 1 8 difference in height between the two rooms.
I m installing some 3 4 pre finished brazilian teak flooring in to a room that previously had carpeting and is adjacent to a room that currently has 3 4 oak flooring with roughly a five foot doorway between the two rooms the carpeted room seems to have 5 8 plywood over the 3 4 floor sheathing. Can someone provide the maximum flooring deviation height difference between floor coverings e g carpet to wood tile to wood that would be considered a trip hazard. Transition strips do not bottom out. I m looking for some solutions to make this horrible transition between my kitchen and living room better.
Reducer strips operate in a similar fashion to ramps in that they reduce the height from one flooring material to the other. The old one here when i bought the house was no good and i took it out in hopes to fix it but that did not go well. And yes i don t think any transitions should exceed 1 2 residential or commercial. Transition between 2 floors of different heights.
There is a significant height difference 1 1 2 inches between the new tile in the kitchen and the adjacent hardwood floor.
